Faith in Queen’s Park
The Faith in Queen’s Park projects were initiated in 2004 on a very small scale with seed funding under the auspices of the Church of All Saints in Queen’s Park, Bedford. In 2010 Faith in Queen’s Park became a separate entity, maintaining strong links with the Church. The projects still enjoy considerable support from the Church and form part of the community action remit of the Church.
The projects remain grassroots with devolved decision-making to individual steering committees upon which participants have significant representation. We welcome all regardless of ability or ability to pay, even our very modest session fees. Participants are encouraged and supported in everything from leading sessions to designing flyers and organising events thereby developing the next generation of leaders.
In a typical week almost 300 youngsters and adults will do something for or with one or other of the projects. Faith Tours see a further 6000 or so adults and youngsters annually on a learning tour of the Mosque, Gurdwara and Church.
In 2011 we became an Arts Awards centre and in 2012 we were accredited with the Community Matters VISIBLE quality standard, endorsed by the Charity Commission.
With the support of the community and the dedication of our volunteers we will continue to impact positively on the lives of people in Queen’s Park.
