What makes our projects really special is that excellence is fostered alongside inclusion. We keep fees low and aspirations high.

Danita Goodwin - Community Projects Manager

The Faith in Queen's Park projects were initiated in 2004 on a very small scale with seed funding under the auspices of the Church of All Saints in Queen's Park, Bedford. In 2010 Faith in Queen's Park became a separate entity, maintaining strong links with the Church. The projects still enjoy considerable support from the Church and form part of the community action remit of the Church.

The projects remain grassroots with devolved decision-making to individual steering committees upon which participants have significant representation. We welcome all regardless of ability or ability to pay, even our very modest session fees. Participants are encouraged and supported in everything from leading sessions to designing flyers and organising events thereby developing the next generation of leaders.

In a typical week almost 300 youngsters and adults will do something for or with one or other of the projects. Faith Tours see a further 6000 or so adults and youngsters annually on a learning tour of the Mosque, Gurdwara and Church.

In 2011 we became an Arts Awards centre and in 2012 we were accredited with the Community Matters VISIBLE quality standard, endorsed by the Charity Commission.

With the support of the community and the dedication of our volunteers we will continue to impact positively on the lives of people in Queen's Park.

I am a dedicated Christian and proud resident of Bedfordshire. I have been actively involved in charitable and community projects from a young age, gaining experience spanning from participation to management in a variety of projects. My qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts (2:1), a diploma in Community leadership and Prince2, Project management and Practitioner certification. I am an extremely dedicated and passionate individual when it comes to community work. I pride myself on my ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people and believe in the importance of treating people fairly. I believe in the power of community work to bring people together, enable freedom of speech and creativity and break down established boundaries. It is of the upmost importance to me that any project I work on is accessible to all - which fits perfectly with the Faith in Queen's Park ethos!
